Land Surveyor / Draughtsperson

  South of Malta  |  up to €28,350 Annually 

Our client, is looking to recruit a Land surveyor/Draughtsperson to join their growing team. Reporting to the Senior Executive within the drawing department, this person will be responsible to:

  • Develop a checklist to ensure all necessary documents are compiled, follow up on progress with key stakeholders in regular meetings, creating a clear timeline and action plan;
  • Regularly update the master drawings to reflect changes captured in as-built drawings; track changes and updates through the control system, and conduct reviews ensuring master drawings are accurate and complete; 
  • Cross-check drawings for any subsequent modifications, and conduct site visits to verify the actual installation matches the 'as-fitted' drawings documenting any discrepancies are corrected promptly;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet project requirements, and ensure all designs adhere to relevant standards and regulations;
  • Establish timelines and priorities for drawing preparation, and conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness, whilst maintaining clear communication with team members to address any issues promptly;
  • Plan, execute and document site surveys to gather accurate data, and use appropriate survey tools and techniques;
  • Develop and regularly update the filing system to organize and store drawings and documents with new and revised drawings;
  • Actively participate in meetings to provide updates, and discuss design progress and challenges, collaborating with the team in finding solutions;
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle from initial estimation to final costing, handling cost plans, budgets, and estimates;
  • Develop detailed BOQs based on the project's drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure BOQs are accurate and comprehensive, and collaborate with project teams to finalize and approve BOQs.

Requirements

  • Ability to coordinate with other departments.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) designs.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Education and Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in drafting with AutoCAD and Land Surveying.
  • Proficiency in English and Maltese languages, effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient use of Autodesk REVIT considered an asset.
  • Advanced AutoCAD certification required.
  • Preferable educational background: Enemalta Wireman’s Licence A and/or B MCAST Advanced/Diploma in various engineering fields
  • Good land surveying skills, including the use of different land surveying instruments.
