Logistics Supervisor

  South of Malta  |  €35,000 - €40,000 Annually 

Our client operating in the bus service industry is looking for a Logistics Supervisor to join their team. Your responsibilities will include the following :

Logistics Management:

  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of bus parts to ensure timely and efficient delivery to customers or internal teams.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure parts are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain delivery schedules to ensure that parts are available when needed and distributed efficiently.

Inventory Control & Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, ensuring that stock levels are consistent and adequate to meet operational needs.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and audits, ensuring the proper management of stock and minimizing inventory discrepancies.
  • Oversee the organization and storage of parts in warehouses, ensuring proper stock rotation and proper care of all items.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and manage a team of logistics staff, ensuring they perform duties effectively and safely.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for the logistics team to enhance performance and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices for handling and storing parts.

Order Fulfillment & Distribution:

  • Oversee the picking, packing, and shipment of parts to customers, ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to ensure that parts are delivered according to customer specifications and deadlines.
  • Address any delays or issues in the delivery process and work with relevant departments to resolve them quickly.

Supply Chain Optimization:

  • Analyze logistics processes to identify areas for improvement in speed, cost-efficiency, and service quality.
  • Work with other departments to forecast future demand for parts, ensuring appropriate stock levels and avoiding overstock or stockouts.
  • Utilize logistics software and tracking tools to monitor shipments, inventory levels, and delivery performance.

Customer Service & Communication:

  • Serve as the point of contact for logistics-related inquiries, responding promptly to customer or internal requests.
  • Communicate with clients to coordinate the delivery of parts and resolve any issues related to parts orders or delays.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring smooth operations and communication with external partners.

Requirements

  • Previous local experience will be considered a requirement
  • Currently based in Malta
  • Good command of Maltese and English is a must, Spanish would be an asset
  • Knowledge of SAP
