Procurement and Sales Specialist

Our client within the manufacturing industry, is looking to recruit a Procurement and Sales Specialist to join their growing team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the chosen candidate will be responsible to:

Procurement Responsibilities:

  • Lead negotiations with suppliers for procurement of machinery, spare parts, chemicals, and materials.
  • Secure optimal prices, service agreements, and delivery terms.
  • Generate detailed purchase orders, ensuring clear terms, conditions, and schedules.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and procedures.
  • Oversee logistics for the transportation and delivery of goods, including international shipments.
  • Optimize shipping methods to balance cost-effectiveness and timeliness while ensuring import/export compliance.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure contract compliance and on-time delivery.
  • Resolve issues related to delays, missing, or incorrect goods promptly.
  • Handle claims for defective, damaged, or missing goods, ensuring timely resolution and compensation from suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent supply and favorable terms.

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and finalize sales agreements, detailing prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to prepare and provide technical specifications to customers.
  • Manage the entire sales process, ensuring accurate order entry and timely processing.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers regarding order status and provide delivery updates as needed.
  • Monitor customer payments and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure timely collection.
  • Resolve any payment discrepancies or issues.
  • Track the progress of projects, ensuring that milestones are met and deliveries are made on time.
  • Address any manufacturing or shipment-related challenges proactively.
  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy of customs documentation for international shipments.
  • Ensure full compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws.
  • Manage customer claims related to product quality, delivery issues, or other concerns, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with customers to promote long-term business growth and satisfaction.
  • Support additional tasks as required to directly influence procurement and sales efficiency.
  • Continuously seek to improve processes and systems related to procurement and sales functions.

Requirements

  • Understanding of the technical specifications for raw materials, components, equipment

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a Degree level of Education in a relevant field
  • Proficiency in English and/or German language: B2 or higher
  • Proven experience in procurement, commodity trading (machinery, spare parts, chemicals), and logistics iis a must
  • Knowledge of import/export and customs procedures
  • Experience in the industrial or manufacturing sectors
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office
