Responsibilities
Prepare cost estimates and manage construction expenses for projects.
Understand project requirements and identify key cost variables.
Gather on-site and warehouse data to inform estimates.
Conduct research on labor, materials, and production times.
Use software for budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.
Review and evaluate offers or quotes from subcontractors and vendors.
Perform risk assessments related to costs.
Submit cost estimate reports or bids to project managers, clients, or bidding competitions.
Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and engineers.
Provide planning consultations, including schedules and manpower needs.
Analyze architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
Compile a list of components for each project and assess cost implications of design changes.
Adhere to health and safety regulations during construction site visits.
Skills & Requirements
Experience in project cost estimation, particularly in mechanical, electrical, or fuel-related industries.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to set deadlines.
Analytical mindset for problem-solving and decision-making.
Ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans.
Proven ability to work independently with sound judgment and reasoning.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and tactful approach.
Ability to handle pressure and adapt to challenges innovatively.
Familiarity with software tools for budgeting and forecasting.
Willingness to learn and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Must meet legal qualifications for the role and have experience in similar projects.
Physically capable and willing to use personal protective equipment as required.
