Quantity Surveyor

  Central Malta  |  €30,000 - €40,000 Annually 

Our client within the Building and Engineering Services Industry are seeking a skilled professional to join their team as a Quantity Surveyor. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction processes and financial management, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Reporting to the Financial Controller your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the preparation of estimates, ensuring accuracy in contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.  
  • Forecast material costs for projects.  
  • Track design and construction changes, adjusting budgets as needed.  
  • Oversee contractor and subcontractor services on the project.  
  • Draft and manage contracts for outsourcing and subcontracting in alignment with the main contract.  
  • Measure and value on-site work.  
  • Prepare, negotiate, and follow up on interim and final payment applications for certification.  
  • Compile and manage bills of quantities and payment applications.  
  • Certify completed work and payment applications for subcontractors.  
  • Coordinate with clients and construction professionals (site and project managers, engineers).  
  • Produce monthly financial reports and project analyses.  
  • Assist with as-built drawings and on-site surveys as needed.  
  • Provide commercial support to Department Managers.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday: 08:00 - 16:00

Requirements

  • Proven local experience as a Quantity Surveyor and cost management.
  • Experienced in preparing and issuing payment applications
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled in using ACAD software and interpreting design drawings.
  • Hold and excellent level of written and verbal Maltese and English

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
