Quantity Surveyor

  Central Malta  |  up to €28,000 Annually 

Our client who operates in the architecture industry is looking for a Quantity Surveyor having the below responsibilities. 

Cost Estimation & Planning

  • Develop precise and detailed cost estimates for all phases of construction projects, from feasibility assessments to project completion.
  • Create and manage cost plans, cash flow forecasts, and value engineering proposals.
  • Review project specifications and drawings to assess material, labor, and equipment needs.
  • Conduct market research and pricing analysis to ensure competitive estimates.

Contract Administration

  • Oversee contract execution throughout the project, ensuring adherence to agreed terms.
  • Track and manage contract variations and facilitate change order processes.
  • Measure civil, construction, and finishing works on-site.
  • Prepare and submit payment applications while overseeing the payment process.

Cost Control & Reporting

  • Track project expenses against the budget and report any discrepancies.
  • Generate regular cost reports and financial forecasts for management.
  • Assess potential cost risks and opportunities.
  • Apply cost control strategies to keep projects within budget.

Project Management Support

  • Provide cost-related guidance and assistance to project managers and team members.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to planning and execution.
  • Work closely with other disciplines to ensure project success.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all cost-related documentation.
  • Stay informed on industry standards and regulatory changes.
  • Support the enhancement of cost management procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required in the role of Quantity Surveyor

Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of construction contracts and contract management
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective client relationship management skills
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Confident in leading a team and managing personal workload

Education and Experience

  • A recognized and accredited degree in Quantity Surveying
  • At least two years of professional experience
  • MQF Level 2 certification in the Maltese language
