Our client who operates in the architecture industry is looking for a Quantity Surveyor having the below responsibilities.
Cost Estimation & Planning
- Develop precise and detailed cost estimates for all phases of construction projects, from feasibility assessments to project completion.
- Create and manage cost plans, cash flow forecasts, and value engineering proposals.
- Review project specifications and drawings to assess material, labor, and equipment needs.
- Conduct market research and pricing analysis to ensure competitive estimates.
Contract Administration
- Oversee contract execution throughout the project, ensuring adherence to agreed terms.
- Track and manage contract variations and facilitate change order processes.
- Measure civil, construction, and finishing works on-site.
- Prepare and submit payment applications while overseeing the payment process.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Track project expenses against the budget and report any discrepancies.
- Generate regular cost reports and financial forecasts for management.
- Assess potential cost risks and opportunities.
- Apply cost control strategies to keep projects within budget.
Project Management Support
- Provide cost-related guidance and assistance to project managers and team members.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to planning and execution.
- Work closely with other disciplines to ensure project success.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of all cost-related documentation.
- Stay informed on industry standards and regulatory changes.
- Support the enhancement of cost management procedures.
- Perform other duties as required in the role of Quantity Surveyor
Requirements
- In-depth understanding of construction contracts and contract management
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective client relationship management skills
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team
- Confident in leading a team and managing personal workload
Education and Experience
- A recognized and accredited degree in Quantity Surveying
- At least two years of professional experience
- MQF Level 2 certification in the Maltese language
