Technical Support Officer

  Central Malta  |  €25,000 - €28,000 Annually 

A new role of Technical Support Officer has arisen with a well renowned company within the hospitality industry.

Due to growth they are seeking candidates with an interest in IT who are motivated and eager to take on a new challenge. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the go-to tech expert for users assisting with queries tied to Wi-Fi access, and other IT-related requests.
  • Quickly resolve any issues
  • Offer prompt technical support to staff, ensuring smooth operation of computers, software, and hardware.
  • Lead informative training sessions to equip staff with essential IT knowledge and best practices.
  • Ensure the performance of all technology by maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems, servers, and devices.
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager to plan and implement system upgrades that enhance our infrastructure.
  • Guarantee fast, reliable connectivity for all users by monitoring and maintaining the company's network.
  • Proactively identify and address any network issues, collaborating with external partners when necessary.
  • Take charge of data security by enforcing IT policies and conducting regular audits to protect sensitive information.
  • Stay ahead of emerging security threats and ensure systems remain secure.
  • Oversee the company's IT inventory, including tracking equipment and licenses, and assisting in the procurement of new technology.
  • Ensure that tools and systems are always up-to-date and functioning optimally.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for urgent IT issues, providing on-call support and collaborating with other departments to resolve critical problems quickly.

Requirements

  • Experience Of 1-2 years in technical support
  • Knowledge on computer systems, networks and IT security protocols
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent command of English and Maltese both verbal and written
  • Open to working on - call

Education and Experience

  • A Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent
  • CCNA / Cisco Certification is required
