Our client, operating in sports, is seeking to recruit a Trading Systems Specialist:
Responsibilities:
Continuously monitor trading systems to ensure stability and uptime, especially during critical business hours and major sporting events.
Collaborate with the Trading, Development, and other teams to introduce new products based on business requirements.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues, escalating more complex problems to relevant teams as needed.
Conduct root cause analysis of system failures and implement measures to prevent future incidents.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to system health, issue resolution times, and new product integrations.
Utilize monitoring tools like Grafana, Splunk, or ELK to monitor system performance, addressing any anomalies promptly to ensure optimal functionality.
Support business growth by expanding the range of products covered by the trading systems.
Translate trading operational needs into actionable tasks for development teams.
Ensure trading systems are scalable to handle increased transaction volumes and the introduction of new products or markets.
Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation on system configurations, workflows, and processes for internal use and training.
This position requires working on one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) in lieu of a different day of the week during 9-5.
Requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in identifying system anomalies and performance issues.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate between operational and technical teams.
Adaptability to changing business priorities and requirements.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, or a related field.
Experience with ticketing systems like JIRA, Zendesk, or other incident management platforms.
Knowledge of SQL for querying large datasets, troubleshooting database issues, and optimizing performance.
Experience with Grafana and basic understanding of scripting languages such as Python or Shell is beneficial.
