Our client, operating in the pharmaceutical industry and producing medical devices, is looking for a HSE Specialist to join their team. Reporting to the General Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Develop, implement, and maintain an HSE Management System, including mission, vision, policies, procedures, risk assessments, KPIs, internal auditing, and training, in compliance with corporate and legal requirements.
Conduct reviews, inspections, and evaluations of working environments, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and ergonomic requirements.
Protect employees, contractors, visitors, and the environment by identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring the availability and proper use of PPE.
Ensure that emergency response and contingency plans are in place, updated, and effectively communicated.
Develop and implement safety training programs for new and existing employees, focusing on injury and health risk prevention.
Investigate workplace accidents, determine causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Monitor, analyze, and revise Safety, Health, and Environmental key performance indicators, addressing any gaps or deficiencies.
Ensure compliance with corporate and legal safety regulations through continuous updates via Red Online services.
Support other European plants in HSE auditing and compliance initiatives.
Serve as the Site Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Champion, collaborating with managers and stakeholders to implement TPM foundations and supporting pillars (e.g., 5S, High-Performance Organization, Autonomous Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Progressive Quality, Training & People Development, HSE, Early Management, and Lean Flow) to achieve manufacturing excellence while maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Requirements
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).

Analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to motivate, lead, and supervise teams effectively.
Education and Experience
Diploma or degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field
Proficiency in computer applications.
Practical experience in HSE activities.
Native level of Maltese is preferred, yet a strong command of the English language is a must.
Local experience with/or a good understanding of the Maltese legislation is required.
