KONNEKT Search and Selection was on Campus for the 8th edition of the Careers’ Convention organized by KSU and AIESEC. An interactive talk was delivered by Josef Said, one of KONNEKT’s directors to a crowd of over 60 students who jam-packed the KSU common room. The session focused on giving students some sharp cutting skills on how to get good jobs in Malta. With around 2,500 interviews a year and in receipt of over 3,500 CVs a year KONNEKT has extensive experience to coach students and job seekers to focus their efforts on what matters most. Apart from sharing tips on CV preparation and interviewing, the interactive session focused on emphasising the need for students to know what they want out of their future, so that they can direct their efforts accordingly. Summer jobs was also an important topic of discussion. Getting summer jobs is critical to future success as they enable students to get a feel of the world of work and quickly get insight into what they are good at and what not.
During the talk students were given a task which stimulated a key skill needed in the job hunting process; where one should not give up and keep persevering. One student who showed he did not quit easily and kept persisting till the end was Lukas Plaehn who went home with a €150 cheque presented to him by KONNEKT as he was the first person to solve the puzzle. KONNEKT's Operations Manager, Alison Grech said "we got a great response from the students and the interaction during the session was mature and focused. We had some really talented people showing enthusiasm and commitment".
